The following law was passed by the Kylian Assembly and received royal assent on January 27th, 2022.
Short Title:
Upon passage, this law may be cited as the Term Limitations Act.
Section 1 - Limits
1. Councillors will only be able to serve three consecutive specific Minister terms. Individuals having reached the limit of one Ministry may run for another.
2. Councillors will only be able to serve three consecutive Lord Chancellor terms.
3. Councillors will only be able to serve four consecutive Speaker terms.
4. Councillors may serve as Senator an indefinite amount of times.
5. Councillors may serve as Justice an indefinite amount of times.
6. Councillors will only be able to serve two consecutive World Assembly Delegate terms.
Section 2 - Exemptions
1. At the reaching of their term limit, the councillor occupying the position should be asked by the individual administering the election whether they're willing to serve another term.
2. Should the councillor be willing to serve another term, they will be considered a "reserve candidate", who will be automatically put onto the ballot should no other councillors stand for election.
3. Should the councillor be unwilling, there will be no "reserve candidate" and they may not be put on the ballot in the event of no other councillors standing.
Section 3 - Other roles
1. Councillors may run for a role they have been blocked from under this law again as soon as one full term has been concluded.
a. Special elections will have no effect on the consideration of a term.
2. New roles created after the passage of this act will be automatically given a two consecutive terms limit, unless specified otherwise.
Section 4 - Closing
1. This law will apply retroactively.
