The following non-binding resolution was passed by the Delphinium Council by a vote of 7-0 on February 24th, 2021.
Recognizing Deryn Blackwell
It is only right that the Delphinium Council takes the time to recognize and honour its members for their contributions to Kantrias. It is only fitting that the first person so recognized is Deryn Blackwell.
While Deryn Blackwell has been a resident of Kantrias for several years, it was in October of 2020 that he became a Councillor of the Alliance of Kantrias and a member of the Delphinium Council. Just days later, he ran for Minister and won, becoming Minister of Recruitment for not one, but two terms. As Minister of Recruitment Deryn maintained Kantrias above 100 nations, preventing the decline of the region.
Where Deryn has shined, however, is within the Delphinium Council itself. He has personally submitted 4 proposals to the Delphinium Council which have been passed into law. Most notably he penned D.C. 2021/001 which provided a criminal code for the region, offering clarity in what is allowed, and how to deal with those who would break the law. Beyond this, he also submitted D.C. 2020/006, allowing special elections to take place with the swiftness they warrant; D.C. 2020/010, enshrining the Allied Forces of Kantrias in law to both protect them from the whim of future Supreme Chancellors and to ensure the government has sufficient oversight of them; and D.C. 2020/011, improving on and clarifying the previous law regulating the WA delegate.
Furthermore, Deryn has shown great dedication to the improvement of Kantrias. One way this has been shown is his constant work in ensuring the robustness of our laws both in the Council Chamber and in private. Another is his not being afraid to speak up when he has seen those in power lacking. The most public example of this was D.C.P. 2020/009 in trying to remove the Supreme Chancellor from office, after the failure of which he did not hesitate in continuing to work with her, and even ran in the next Minister election to continue to be a Minister in her government. He has also not hesitated to speak against the Administrators of the region when he thought their actions were lacking, a move done not out of malice or spite, but with the hope of improving the systems in place for the good of Kantrias.
Deryn Blackwell has time and again prioritized the well-being and security of Kantrias over his own personal health and has contributed immensely to its success.
For these reasons and many more, the Delphinium Council officially recognizes the contributions of Deryn Blackwell and commends him for them.
