There was an evident feeling of excitement bubbling around those trickling into the entrance, yourself included. The fragrant air of spring was almost intoxicating, and many other guests had their hair sprinkled with fallen cherry blossom petals by the playful breeze. Someone sneezed from the air heavy with pollen, the poor soul.
It was warm today, the sun seemed shy as it ducked behind thin wisps of clouds. People were starting to take their seats on the chairs provided in neat, orderly rows all facing the front where a podium stood. The Kantrian crest was shown proudly on the front, and many Executive Officers in the government of Kantrias began walking out and standing behind and beside the podium either on the left or right. Their outfits all the same, except for their various pins of different colors. They all had a star pin of either a rich jade green for the Justices, a nice sunset orange-red for the Supreme Chancellor or deep, reddish-magenta for the Ministers. There were also smaller pins showing the logos of the Kantrian Monarchist Party, Insanity Party of Kantrias, or the Voters Party of Kantrias. The subtle chatter died down at their arrival, and the attention focused on the podium.
Caldemar Quilor emerged and stood behind the podium, their coronation robes sparkling in the sunlight. There was white faux fur lining the edges of the long, draping purple robe with gold patterns above. A shawl of the same fur color was draped over his shoulders, with small lines of black cloth soaking up the sunlight. Caldemar turned towards Tia, who had a wonderful light blue star pin, the colors of the Speaker. They placed the crown on Caldemar’s head, and the golden colors shone brightly in the sunlight. Once he was facing the crowd once again, applause broke out immediately. A formal smile, then Caldemar began to speak.

Thank you all for being here on this important occasion, and am both humbled and honoured by all of your presence. Today represents both a new era for Kantrias and a return to our roots as a monarchy. Kantrias has a long tradition of monarchy, since our founding on October 25th of 2012, and it has been a pleasure to see the people of Kantrias work towards restoring that tradition.
Despite being made King, I am fiercely proud of the strong democratic values we have built up in Kantrias and do not wish to see the political rights of Kantrians eroded by the crown. As such, I will remain a vocal supporter of efforts to open up the region to wider participation, and against any efforts to put anyone above the law. While I am now empowered to create a noble class in the region, I will stand opposed to the nobility being given special treatment, or being given opportunities not available to others.
I will act as a mentor and guide to the region. Offering myself as an extra set of hands when needed to organize events, and to offer advice when it is asked of me. I will strive to keep Kantrias the open and welcoming place it is, greeting our newest residents and helping them integrate into life in Kantrias. I will also actively strive to train someone to replace me as both the Speaker of the Kylian Legislature, and as a High Tribunal Justice. It has been an honour to serve the region in these areas, but the time has come for a new Kantrian to take over these roles, and play a part in keeping the machinery of the region humming.
I am delighted by the strong and noteworthy presence we have from other regions today, and can only thank our Minister of Foreign Affairs, Skar Quilor, for the work he has done in making that happen. I was shocked when I heard you were sending out personal invitations to a wide range of foreign dignitaries, and the work you put into the invitations themselves. I will admit, foreign affairs has never been my strength. Back when I was first Crown Prince, that is part of what made Kylia and myself such a good team. I excelled in taking care of the domestic affairs of the region, while she was able to keep her finger on the pulse of gameplay and the wider NationStates role. As King, I will have a role in oversight of foreign affairs, but even today I know I will be relying on our excellent Ministry of Foreign Affairs to lead the charge. In this past year, we have been coming back into our own on the international stage, and I look forward to seeing that process continue, after all, when we work together it helps bring activity and new opportunities to everyone involved.
Our Minister of Culture, Ichika A. Zobieski, also deserves thanks for her work in putting together this coronation. I find myself moved by the scene you have painted, and feel it is a wonderful representation of our region. In the past year, you have become an integral part of our community, being the informal leader of the "shinies generation". I look forward to seeing you grow, and what you can do with the region going forward.
Deryn Blackwell, the amount of work you have done for the region is astonishing. While there was talk of restoring the monarchy, I do not think it would have happened anytime soon without your push. Your drive is astonishing, and the region owes you a debt of gratitude for all the hard work you have put into it. You are to be commended for your talent to see what needs to be done and then simply doing it.
I would like to thank Sara Quilor for her long-term dedication to the region, having been around for almost as long as I have been, and for keeping the lights on at times I was not around.
Finally, I wish to thank my fellow Kantrias as a whole for the trust you have placed in me. Kantrias is made better for the presence of every one of you, and would not be what it is today without you. Please, feel free to reach out to me at any time. Whether it is because you want to get involved but are not sure what to do, because you have a question and you are not sure who to ask, or something is going on in your life and you need someone to vent to. I am here for you.
I now invite you to take part in the festivities we have going on for the last day of the Cherry Blossom Festival. There are a few different forum games available, there is a game night in the evening, and there is sure to be plenty of conversation over on our Discord server. Festivals are a long tradition in Kantrias, and I would love to see this one ended with a bang!

This, unless I've missed a counting somewhere, which is possible, will be the third time Caldemar has risen to the throne of Kantrias as the King. I don't know if you plan to keep calling it the Delphinium Throne or the Delphinium Palace, but at the very least, that's what I'm still calling it in my head.
So it's the third time Caldemar has risen to the Delphinium Throne.
The last two times, it's because of me, because I abdicated without much warning, threw the region in Caldemar's Lap, and ran off without another word. I could go into a thousand and one reasons for why I did it each time, but today is for Caldemar.
Each time, Caldemar took over without complaint, and did what he could to make the Region work. Caldemar served when I wouldn't, when I couldn't, and even now, he's still serving the region.
I might have been the founder of Kantrias way back when. I might have been the first and third monarch, but Caldemar has done... so much more for this region than I ever did, than I ever could. Even before I adopted him as my heir, way back in the earliest days of the region, Caldemar put in the hard work for this region,
I had no idea, in the earliest days of Kantrias, late October 2012, when I granted the citizenship application of this new user named Caldemar, with his nation Leutria, who it was I was bringing into the region. I had visions and plans for the region, bold ideas, but for all that, I had no idea that Caldemar would become such a valuable member of the region, that Caldemar would serve the region as a Minister, as a Senator, a Crown Prince, a King, and more.
I had no idea that Caldemar would turn out to be one of my closest friends.
Now, these days, we're not as close as we were. Kantrias held us together through everything, and I can't stay around Kantrias for long, as much as I wish I could. So we don't talk as much as we used to.
I still consider Caldemar a friend, and I still know that he is the nicest guy I have ever known. Even if we never talked ever again after this celebration was over - and I hope that we do talk again, even if infrequently as we have - I would still treasure all the time I've known Caldemar. I don't think I'm ever going to meet a nicer guy.
Caldemar has done so much for this region, more than I did, more than anyone, over the years.
Caldemar is helpful, kind, smart, reliable, funny, dedicated, almost never has an unkind word to say about anyone (even people who I thought deserved it  ).
A lot of people, when they unexpectedly had a region thrown into their laps not once, but twice, might have walked away, or not taken the burden onto themselves.
Caldemar did.
I feel like this 'speech' isn't long enough, that I could and should say more more about Caldemar, about how much he's done for Kantrias, how much I appreciate all he's done as my friend, all he's done to help keep this dream that I had that became Kantrias alive...
But there aren't enough words for it.
I can't spend the sort of time around Kantrias that I might want. But the region, the idea of the Region, will always be near and dear to my heart.
And for those of you who call Kantrias home now, those that I know and those that I don't - everything I know about Caldemar, this guy who has put in so much work for this region...
All that tells me that you can't ask for a better person to be the King of Kantrias as the region ushers in a new age for itself, brings back Monarchy, but in a new way all its own.
So, Congratulations Caldemar - you earned this and more. Thank you for everything you've done for the region, and no doubt, everything you will do.

Congratulations on your coronation, Caldemar! Having only interacted directly with you a few times in the past, if that's any indication of the positivity and enthusiasm you'll bring to Kantrias, then I'm sure you'll be an excellent monarch and I'm looking forward to seeing everything you can bring to Kantrias as King!

Congratulations, Father dearest! For all of what you do for this region, you deserve being King once more! I also couldn't agree more with Grandmother. You were one of the ones that helped me grow to who I am today and all I can do to thank you is be the best that I can for Kantrias!

I am so happy you could be here today Kylia. I am sorry we don't talk more, but I still consider you a friend as well. While I might have kept Kantrias going, it wouldn't have existed in the first place without you, and I am grateful for that gift. Kantrias has given me something to be responsible for, a place I can build and maintain a community, and a place I feel valuable, and so while you worry of having burdened me with the region, it really is not a burden, but a privilege (even if burnout can still strike from time to time).
Also yes, it is still the Delphinium Palace and the Delphinium Throne

Congratulations, Your Majesty. I've seen how well the region has functioned under your leadership as King twice before, and I'm certain you'll keep Kantrias on the path of growth.
Long Live the King! To Kantrias, the Land of the Gavel and Sword!
